Hopewall — Terms of Use
Hopewall is a vision board where every picture is a goal. It is made by Luxxat Labs, IP, a sole proprietor registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan. These terms are the agreement between you and us. We have kept them short and in plain English.
By using Hopewall you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. What Hopewall is, and what it is not
Hopewall lets you make boards of pictures, and give each picture a goal with steps, a due date and progress. Your boards, goals and photos are kept on your phone. Hopewall needs no account.
Hopewall is a tool for keeping your goals in view. It does not promise that a goal will come true, and it does not predict or guarantee any result. Nothing in Hopewall, in its templates or in its reminders is financial, health, legal or other professional advice. You decide what to do, and you are responsible for it.
2. Free, with no ads
These parts of Hopewall are free, and they stay free: three boards, as many photos as you like, goals with steps, a due date and progress on every picture, renaming and deleting goals, a set of starter templates, the grid layouts, one home-screen widget, the daily nudge and step reminders, saving a board as an image with no watermark, picture search, and the backup file. There are no ads.
3. Hopewall Plus
Hopewall Plus unlocks more than the free parts. The paywall in the app is the full list. It includes, for example, more than three boards, all templates, the extra widget sizes and board rotation on iPhone, the lock-screen widget on iPhone, the print-size PDF poster and board styles. You can buy it in three ways, through the App Store or Google Play:
| Product id | What it is |
|---|---|
hopewall_plus_yearly | A subscription. It renews every year until you cancel it. New subscribers who the store says are eligible get a 7-day free trial. |
hopewall_plus_monthly | A subscription. It renews every month until you cancel it. It has no trial. |
hopewall_plus_lifetime | A one-time purchase. One payment, no renewal. |
- The price is shown by the App Store or Google Play before you buy, in your currency and with the taxes that apply to you. It is not set on this page.
- The free trial is on the yearly plan only. Hopewall shows it only when the store says your account can have it. If you do not cancel in time, the trial turns into a paid yearly subscription at the price shown on the paywall. The paywall shows the date to cancel by. On iPhone, cancel at least one day before the trial ends. On Google Play, cancel before the trial ends.
- The two subscriptions renew by themselves until you cancel. To manage or cancel one, open your subscriptions in the store, or use “Manage subscription” in Hopewall. In the App Store: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. In Google Play: the Play Store app, then your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store.
- Restore. A purchase belongs to your store account. On a new phone, or after you reinstall Hopewall, open Settings and tap “Restore purchases”. It reads your store account and needs no login with us. A subscription unlocks Plus on one phone at a time: if you restore it on another phone, Plus turns off on the first. Lifetime works on up to 5 phones. Family Sharing is not offered.
- Refunds go through Apple or Google, under their rules. This includes the 14-day withdrawal right that EU law gives you. We only check the receipt and unlock the features.
- If Plus ends (you cancel, or the store refunds it), the Plus features lock again. Your boards stay.
Our promise, which is also on the paywall: No weekly plan. Cancel any time in your store account. Every board you make stays yours to open, edit and export — free, forever. Nothing you have paid for is ever moved behind a new paywall.
4. Pictures and photo search
Your own photos. Use only photos that you have the right to use. A photo you add stays yours. Hopewall keeps a copy, made smaller, on your phone.
Search. Photo search shows pictures from Pixabay. Pixabay’s Pixabay Content License applies to them, not a licence from us. The app shows the photographer’s name and a link. In short, you may use the pictures for free, also in your own boards and images, and you do not have to give credit, but giving credit is welcome. You may not sell or hand out a picture on its own, as if it were yours, and the licence has other limits (for example, it does not clear brands, logos or the likeness of a person for a commercial use). Read the licence before you use a picture for more than a personal board. When you share an image of your board, you are responsible for how you share it.
We ask Pixabay for pictures that are suitable for all ages, and we block a list of search words. No filter is perfect, and we cannot promise that a picture will never surprise you. Search needs the internet and may be limited for a time, or not be available. Your own photos always work. How search handles your data is in the Privacy Policy.
5. The Suggestions board
Settings has a Suggestions board, where you can post an idea or a bug report and vote on other people’s posts. That board is the only place in Hopewall where your words reach other people. Every person who uses the app can read it. A post shows the name “Hopewall user”. Do not put private information in a post.
Do not post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene, discriminatory or illegal. Do not post other people’s private information, spam, or advertising. A title is 4 to 80 characters, details are 10 to 1000 characters, and you can post once a day.
- Every post has Report and Hide. A report says why: spam, offensive, or other.
- You can block an author, and their posts disappear for you.
- We read the reports. We may hide or remove a post that breaks these rules.
- To report a post or ask us to remove one, you can also write to hello@luxxatlabs.dev. Say which post, and why.
6. Your content and your data
What you write and the pictures you add stay yours. For a suggestions post, you give us the permission we need to store it and to show it to other users of the app. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
Your data is yours. The backup file and the image export are free, and they always will be.
7. Fair use
Do not flood our servers, do not try to take the app apart or work around its limits, and do not use the picture search for anything but your own boards. We may limit or block the requests that look like abuse.
8. Who can use Hopewall
You must be 16 or older to use Hopewall. It is not made for children. The age rating that the stores show for Hopewall is about its content. These terms still need you to be 16.
9. The app is provided as it is
We cannot promise that Hopewall will always be available or free of mistakes. Picture search, the suggestions board and the purchase check need a working network. The app is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond the ones the law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
10. Limit of our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Luxxat Labs, IP is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for a decision you make or a result you do not reach because of the app. Keep a backup file of boards you care about. Our total liability for any claim connected with Hopewall is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it, and is nothing if you never bought Hopewall Plus. Nothing here removes a liability that the law says cannot be removed.
11. Changes, and stopping
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and using the app after that means you accept the new version. You can stop at any time. Export your boards first. If you want your data removed from our servers, see “Deleting your data” in the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This does not take away the rights that the consumer law of your country gives you.
